Not only did I have the privilege of redesigning the DEKI website, but also I was able use Ian Ball's illustrations (albinal.com) which are fantastic. The site is the main focal point of the charity (which is in the business of micro-financing, but in a way that returns the choice and power to the donator/recipient as it can be done online and instantly), so how the user interacts and experiences the site was key to the site's redesign.

With some light-hearted use of Ian's illustrations contrasted with the portraits of the entrepreneurs, we managed to keep the site clean and friendly, making it as easy as possible for new users to make loans and interact with the site. Particular attention was paid to the checkout area to make the financial portion of giving intuitive and simple whilst giving the user clear calls to action and help where needed.

There's also a new user management interface that handles all past and current information that might be useful to the user in a widget-styled layout. The design, build and implementation of the site to their existing setup went very well and I'm looking forward to helping develop the site further soon.
